USF Gym Classes and Group Fitness

Group fitness is a wonderful way to get in shape and meet new people. USF Recreation & Wellness offers free group fitness classes on campus. Participants can choose from a wide variety of classes, from Total Body Strength to Yoga. The instructors are nationally certified, and they will provide a challenging yet rewarding workout for all levels of fitness. Whether you're a newbie or a seasoned pro, there's a class for you.

While the gym is open to the public, Group Fitness classes will be virtual via Microsoft Teams. The schedule will be posted here, as well as any other important information. All Group Fitness classes are free to attend, so there's no need to make a reservation ahead of time. You can register for a class online or at a kiosk in the Campus Recreation Center lobby. If a class has more than one sign-up, participants can register as “Stand-bys” until five minutes before the class begins. Those who don't register will be automatically refunded their membership if they're found to have misrepresented their personal information.

Campus Recreation offers various classes. Some are held in the Campus Recreation Center or the WELL Fitness Center. Some are streamed through Microsoft Teams, so participants don't have to travel to another location to join the class. In-person classes are available to all students on campus, though they can be limited in the number of attendees. Some groups opt for a separate location if they need to meet in the WELL Fitness Center or a private location.

Group Cycle is another unique feature of Group Fitness. This innovative indoor cycling class challenges riders with resistance and speed to build cardiovascular and muscular endurance. Its MyWellness App makes it easy to track your cardio workouts. The Cycle Concert Series allows patrons to watch their favorite musicians live, while a new artist is featured each week. These unique programs are available to everyone and are a great way to get a workout in without getting in the way of others.
